The name Twinns 77 has been synonymous with the famous oshogbo art movement since its inception in the early 1960s. His magnificent wood cut relief works illustrate in vividly graphic style, the uniqueness of Yoruba culture, folklore and Mythology.
Widely exhibited all over the world with impressive public commissions and murals in leading art capitals globally, his remarkable body of work testify to the nature of his commitment to the beauty and supremacy of the African creation narrative.
As the sole survivor of seven sets of twins born to his mother, his was a charmed life lived to the fullest from 1944 till his untimely death on the 16th of June 2011. He will go down in history as one of Africa’s most celebrated visual artists with an instantly recognizable style and spirit.
